Dear Parents / Guardians
GENERAL CIRCULAR NUMBER 01 OF 2014
(PRIMARY & SECONDARY SECTIONS).
“O Lord we believe
Then do Thou forgive us,
And have Mercy on us,
For Thou art the Best of,
Those who show Mercy. (SURAH 23, VERSE 109).
We make Du’a that Almighty Allah forgives us for our shortcomings and Guide our children to the path of Seeratul Mustaqeem – Ameen.
Alhamdulillah, the Academic Year 2014 has commenced in earnest and most students are settling down to serious work. There are however a number of students who are still adopting a lackadaisical attitude to their work and neglecting to do their homework. The Grade 7 Learners are beginning to settle down to the demands of the High School. A successful Parents’ Meeting held highlighted how crucial it was for Parents’ to become involved in the education of their children.
We welcome the Grade Ones of 2014 and all other new Students to our school and hope that their stay will be fruitful in both the Academic Sphere and the inculcation of Good Akhlaaq – Ameen.
Listed hereunder are matters for your information and attention:
MATRIC RESULTS 2013:
We say Shukr Alhamdulillah for the excellent results produced by the Matrics of 2013. We had a 100% pass rate and were awarded a Trophy and a Certificate by our District D-11 South for being the “best performing Independent School in our District”. Two of our Learners i.e. Nabila Baba and Muhammad Osman also brought great honour to the school by being placed 1st and 3rd respectively from all the Independent School Learners in Gauteng.
TERM ENDING 1ST QUARTER 2014:
The First Term terminates on Friday 28th March 2014. School reopens for the Second Quarter on Monday 07th April 2014.
SCHOOL POLICIES & CODE OF CONDUCT:
Each Learner has been given the above document which clearly states that discipline is essential if learning is to take place. The Demerit System will be strictly applied to Learners who default. The accumulation of 20 Demerits can lead to suspension. At a Board Meeting held on Saturday 15th February 2014, the Board of Governors passed a motion to add the following addenda to the Code of Conduct:
“Anyone guilty of fighting will be immediately suspended – Pending a Disciplinary Hearing”.
“Any outsider/s or parent/s related to any learner/s who brings disrepute to the School and shows total disrespect for Educators and Management Staff will jeopardize re-registration for the respective learner/s”.
LATECOMING & ABSENTEEISM:
Learners must ensure that they are punctual. Latecomers will serve detention. The onus is on parents to ensure that transport is available for students who have to serve detention. Learners who stay absent must forward a letter to their Class Educator.
A humble appeal is made to Parents to ensure that their children are picked up as soon as the Bell Rings for home time. Too many learners are left stranded when the transport does not arrive on time.
Tipp-ex is banned. The use of Tipp-ex in the Matric Exams is also not allowed.
Damage to school property is viewed in a very serious light. Offenders will have to pay to have the damages repaired. Serious cases of vandalism may lead to suspension.
A humble appeal is made to parents to ensure that fees are paid timeously. Fees must be paid at the beginning of each term.
The Board of Governors Policy in respect of Tuition is as follows:
“Tuition given to Learners you teach in class must be free of charge”.
We appreciate the concern expressed by parents when the Robots were not working. The school has no control over this issue as most of the times the fault occurs when cables are stolen. We make a humble appeal to parents to exercise Sabr (patience) when picking up or dropping off children at school. Please drive slowly as our little ones sometimes run across the road without looking. Your co-operation and understanding will be appreciated.
Jazakallah, to the Learners who are conforming with the requirements in respect of Uniforms. There are however some Learners still not conforming. Parents, please check on their attire before they leave for school.
WEBSITE FOR OUR SCHOOL:
The school has developed a New Website i.e. www.lenasiamuslimschool.co.za
Your co-operation, commitment and understanding will be highly appreciated.
