  • Giving Back to the Community

Our learners are afforded ample opportunity to develop self-esteem, responsibility and confidence. Community service is an integral part of LMS education, instilling in our learners a moral consciousness of striving to uplift and assist those in need.

We undertake a host of outreach programmes such as our annually hosted mass iftaar for the orphans in our community, packaging and distributing Ramadaan hampers to the under privileged and other community driven projects such as Operation Winter Warm and Operation Hydrate.

Our recent major outreach programme, a mammoth task, involved raising funds to open a library for the low socio-economic community of Fochville.

With dedicated and committed educators and learners and the generosity of our community, we raised sufficient funds to hand over the Library Resource Centre to Reakona Primary School on the 26th of July 2018. We have done this in the hope that other schools will follow in our footsteps

From the dusty servitude fields in Volta Street to state of the art astro turf courts today, LMS has come a long way in providing excellent facilities for its learners.

Much has been done over the years in the sporting arena to make sports enjoyable and challenging for every aspirant budding star. LMS has over the years become a leading foot balling school.

This is clearly evident in the leader in the football domain number of achievements. Our belief is that sports and education go hand in hand and completes a holistic development of a child. Sporting Codes offered at LMS:

  • Hifz Programme

The memorisation of the Holy Quraan is a very meritorious act. The love for the Quraan kindles the desire to commit it to memory, in many Muslims. To help facilitate this dream and desire, LMS established an in house hifdh class in 2017 to run concurrently with our dual curriculum.

Parents have taken warmly to the programme, as it is designed such that a learner enters the programme in grade 4 and by grade 9, they would have completed their hifdh as well as their dhor.

A minimal contact time of 4,5 hours daily is maintained throughout the programme. By participating in this programme, the learner is able to gracefully acquire the knowledge of the divine and acquired sciences, whilst fulfilling the mandate of the hifdh programme.
